i have an old neighbor thats a breast cancer survivor.. or someone whos now gone. my friend who passed away 4 years ago from breast cancer. only 46 young years old. motivation thats truly from the heart. she fought a good ten years, she was really young when she was diagnosed but she was very graceful and a hard fighter. tina musgrove has walked in chicago 5 years now... i promised my friend that as long as i could walk, i would do soemthing for her.. but this is the walks final day.. and final year in chicago and six other cities. susan g. komen says its closing down half of its walks next year. a drop in participation because of the economy is the reason they give... even if some supporters know it could be something else. i feel that the komen foundation made some bad poltical decisions, ya know.. and i dont necessarily agree with the poltiics but its such

it was a hometown win of sorts in the final round of the "chicago match cup" sailboat races today. the crowd on navy pier cheered as chicagoan taylor canfield and his crew on board u-s one, in yellow, crossed the finish line, barely beating out the australian team. chicago is the only american stop on the worldwide match racing tour. canfield's team took home a 25- thousand dollar check from a total prize fund of 100- thousand. a number of chicago-area nurses let down their hair today, in a good cause. they "made the cut," as it were, by donating their hair for cancer patients who have lost theirs.
